ECO game privacy
What data ECO, the puzzle where an echo repeats your steps, uses: what stays on your device, purchases and opt-in ads.
Last updated: 2026-10-19
This policy covers only the ECO game for iPhone, iPad and Android. The website's privacy is explained separately in the www.elrincondeisma.com privacy policy.
In one sentence: ECO has no user accounts and no servers of its own; your progress is saved only on your device. The only data that leaves it is what Apple or Google process when you buy something and, if you allow it, what Google AdMob processes when you choose to watch an ad to get a hint.
1. Who is responsible
- Owner: Ismael Catalá
- Tax ID: 52892832S
- Address: Calle Virgen de la Oliva, 10, 28037 Madrid
- Contact email: ismael@elrincondeisma.com
2. What is stored on your device
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Progress: levels cleared, medals, regions, hints used and available | So you can pick up where you left off |
| Settings: language, sound and music | To remember your preferences |
| Looks chosen and unlocked | To show the look you picked |
| Purchases: which products you own and each transaction ID | To deliver each purchase exactly once and restore it |
All of this lives in a file inside the app's private storage. It is not sent to any server of ours (we have none). If you uninstall the game, it is deleted.
3. In-app purchases
Purchases (hint pack, looks packs and supporter pack) are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your name, email or payment details: we only receive the purchase confirmation and its ID, which is stored on your device. What Apple or Google do with that data is governed by their own policies.
"Restore purchases" asks the store for what you already bought with your account; it needs no data from us.
4. Opt-in ads (Google AdMob)
ECO only shows an ad when you ask for one, to get an extra hint. There are no ads when you open the game or between levels.
To serve those ads we use Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). When you request an ad, Google may process:
- your IP address and an approximate location derived from it;
- technical device data (model, operating system, language);
- the device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS or the Android advertising ID), only if you allow it;
- how you interact with the ad (whether it is watched in full, whether it is tapped).
Your consent: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the game first asks, with Google's consent form, whether you accept personalised ads. On iOS the system also asks whether you allow tracking. Whatever you answer, the hint is yours and the game works the same: if you decline, ads are not personalised.
You can change your choice at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy and ads inside the game and, on iOS, in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Tracking.

5. Game engine
ECO is made with Unity. Its analytics services are turned off; even so, the engine may send Unity Technologies basic technical data (device model, operating system and crashes) under its privacy policy.
6. Legal basis and age
- Data stored on your device is processed to provide the service you ask for (playing).
- Purchases are processed to perform the purchase contract.
- Personalised ads are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
ECO is meant for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under that age.
7. Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection or portability of your data by writing to ismael@elrincondeisma.com. Since we have no servers or accounts we normally hold nothing about you: game data is on your device, and purchase and ad data is held by Apple, Google or Google AdMob, whom you can also contact.
If you think we have not handled your request properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
8. Changes
If what the game does with data changes, we will update this page and the date above.
